MERRICK

Merrick was checking out the market with his girlfriend Emily, when they stopped at our table on the way out the market. They showed interested and stopped to hear our explanation, they then remarked on how 'cool' they thought it was and kept questioning the 'anything for anything' factor. After our reassurance, Merrick wanted to trade his business card for the dollar bill, but had a clear moral dilemma within. He finally ended up doing the trade after he talked himself into it, seeing the trade as equal.

EMILY

As mentioned above, Emily was at the market with her boyfriend Merrick. She was interested and excited to participate as well and wanted to trade a make-shift care package for the care package on the table. She also had a moral dilemma because the tea packet she was going to trade was slightly worn with minute holes in the exterior packaging. After her boyfriend convinced her the trade was fair, she swapped and moved on with a smile.

RENA

Rena had strolled by the table a couple times throughout the day and knew she wanted to trade again. As the day grew longer and time was running out, she decided to trade for the last time. She was intrigued by the sports bra, but was slightly weary of it. After we relayed the information we were told pertaining its cleanliness, she was less reluctant and decided she would trade one of her homemade buttons. Like many of the patrons, Rena verified the trade was acceptable then moved on a happy swapper.

ABBEY

Abbey had come by the table again to swap for some more stuff, this time she took longer to decide on an object because of the then current inventory. She then mentioned how her throat was somewhat sore, so the lozenges made sense to her. She quickly offered a button dug out of her jacket pocket, and went back to her booth with some ailment relief.

MARIA

Maria came by the table to swap for the last time that day, she quickly surveyed the table and somewhat chuckled at the box of leftovers. At that point we started up-selling it since she had mentioned how hungry she was, it was close to closing time so all the vendors were fairly hungry. Maria ended up leaving a dollar for the food and left to munch away at her booth.

CHRIS

Chris came by the table again looking to help us out, after surveying the table he laughed at and insulted the previous business card trade. Questioning the play of ego within that trade, he stressed how he wanted to trade, but didn't have anything left at the market he could swap. We then mentioned maybe business card for business card, thats when he thought of his business card and a taster of his ginger infused sugar, which happens to be shelf stable.

JENNIFER

Jennifer had stopped by the table multiple times, but was never intrigued with the current inventory during her visits. She would often leave saying she'll be back in a bit, with closing hours approaching she decided to swap one of her t-shirts for the button. This was yet another instance of in direct vendor to vendor trading.

ANONYMOUS

Unfortunately we didn't write down his name when he approached the table. He is actually the boyfriend of the patron and vendor Allie, who had brought him to the market to trade because she didn't want to appear in our documentation again. She then fell in love with Jennifer's t-shirt and gave her boyfriend the candle to swap for it. Yet another instance of vendors trading among themselves indirectly.

CHRIS

Chris decided he wanted to help us out again and get the 'worst trade' off the table. Chris was very annoyed with the ten dollar bill for flyer trade and wanted to correct it. He then grabbed a pair of gloves from the market's lost and found that had been laying there for a long while. He wanted to remove the flyer to help the original objects journey further even more.

As mentioned above Maya was with Giulia and their respective mothers. Maya was the only one that showed clear concern with the equality and morality of the potential trade. She kept stressing to everyone the trade wouldn't be fair. This attitude quickly changed when her mother and Giulia convinced her not to care.

ABBEY

Abbey decided she wanted to trade once last time on her way out of the now closed market. She looked around the table and notice the gloves, she then told us she was about to drive for two hours on her way home and how she really needed gloves. So the trade was both logical and desirable to Abbey, she then searched her jacket once again pulled out a keychain she was quiet excited about. She seemed somewhat sad to lose the keychain, but excited to trade once last time.
